Volunteer committee members are needed to develop pro and con statements for the Marijuana-Related Business Advisory Measure appearing on the November ballot.
The City Council placed the measure on the ballot to seek the opinion of voters regarding marijuana related businesses in town. Existing City codes prohibit all marijuana-related retail, production and processing operations.
The Pro Committee will write statements in support of allowing marijuana-related businesses. The Con Committee will write statements in support of current prohibitions and opposing any changes.
The ballot measure is non-binding and advisory. Following the election, the City Council will determine if the outcome warrants taking any changes to City codes.
Applications to serve on either the Pro or Con Committee are due July 5 at 4:00 p.m. See the Elections page.
