The City Street Department has installed the very first rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) in the City on Pine Avenue at Emerson Street in front of the Emerson Elementary School. Push the button and the LED yellow lights will begin flashing to warn vehicles that a pedestrian is at the crosswalk. Pedestrians must continue to be cautious when crossing and look both ways. The Snohomish School District partnered with the City in the purchase of the RRFB. This is a part of the City’s Pedestrian Network Improvement Project.
