Per U.S. Army Corps of Engineer standards, which discourages allowing trees to grow on levees, the District had a forester look at the trees on their levee on the mill site who prepared a report for their removal. The District then ran that by the County, which determined it was exempt from regulation since it was following Corps requirements. The tree cutting will take about three days. Also, the mill site owner has given the District permission to burn the slash on site, so that will be happening in the not too distant future.
