WSDOT Fish Passage Project - Road Closures

Road Construction Ahead

State Route 92 at North Machias Road will be closed this upcoming weekend and for 13 days starting July 6.

Closure Schedule (not weather dependent)

  • 9:00 p.m. Friday, June 15 to 6:00 a.m. Monday June 18 (this weekend's closure)
  • 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 6 to 2:00 Thursday, July 19 (13-day closure)

This project will improve the route and expand habitat access for local migratory fish, restore the creek to its natural state and help WSDOT comply with a 2013 U.S. District Court ruling.

For the 13-day closure, emergency services will need to take the detour routes outlined below due to the fact there will be a giant hole in the middle of SR 92.

Detour Routes

Two separate routes will be signed for these closures at SR 92 and North Machias Road (see below map or click on link).

  • Large truck detour uses SR 9 and 84th Street Northeast.
  • Small car/light truck detour uses 44th Street Northeast, 127th Drive Northeast, 139th Avenue Northeast, 28th Street Northeast and Old Hartford Road.
